Was I awaken by her light

As I free myself from the hands of darkness,

I saw the eyes of a goddess who lies beside me.

Her cheeks shine from the morning sun’s kiss,

her hair moves with the warm breeze’s soft hiss.

Her eyes ask me, “Are you awake now?”

And I find myself lost in her gaze, somehow.

The world begins anew with her by my side,

as the sun dances in her eyes, a gentle tide.

I know the world will revolve again,

with burdens to follow, like shadows in the rain.

As I decide to move away from you,

your warm hands stop mine, soft and true,

asking for a moment, just a little time,

to linger beneath the sheets, intertwined.

As I hear the sounds of happiness from our kids in the distance, I ’ll look at you one more time,

seeking a glimpse of persistence,

wondering if the world will pause, just for this,

to savor the stillness, the perfect bliss.

Knowing the truth, I will depart,

but at the end of the day,

when the night swallows the light,

I find myself again in your warm hands,

where time fades, and love understands.

Slowly consumed by your love, I’ll yearn,

longing for you, day after day, as the seasons turn.
